8. How experts discuss the well-being and health of young people
The well-being and health of young people are key socio-political issues: firstly, for the sake of the young people themselves – who does not want to feel well? – and secondly, because young people are also hugely important for society. They represent the future.
Numerous experts are therefore working to determine situation regarding the well-being and health of the young generation in the Grand Duchy. We spoke to them in order to systematically map the current state of discussion in various areas of activity. What are experts discussing in terms of the well-being and health of young people in Luxembourg? What developments and problem areas do they describe? What do they see as being the causes? Answers to these questions are given in the following chapter.
In general, it can be ascertained that in professional discourse, experts increasingly view young people as being active and competent protagonists. Although they experience many external influences and operate within structures that they do not shape themselves, there is increasing recognition that the more that young people are able to help shape measures to improve well-being and health, the more effective these measures will be.
